#19 - Mike Piacentini

Episode Overview

Mike Piacentini is a staff mastering engineer at Battery Studios, Sony Music’s premier in house mastering facility.  Mike has mastered records for a wide variety of frontline and reissue projects with artists including Bob Dylan, Depeche Mode, Rage Against the Machine, and many others.  Most recently Mike has mastered projects such as the Grammy award winning soundtrack - Miles Ahead - A Miles Davis biopic.

Mike is also a founding member of the band Northvale.

In this episode, Mike and Rich discuss a variety of topics including mastering (mixing immersive audio, his home setup and studio setup, mastering tips of laymen etc.), and the differences in what it means to be a band today vs. the previous decades (recording, release and promotion, touring, etc.)
